Overview
At Star Sports (owned by The Walt Disney Company), I built and launched the Sports Product Innovation Lab — a dedicated capability for developing AI-powered sports broadcast products. The lab collaborated with IIIT-Hyderabad's research teams and shipped two products to live broadcast production.
Highlights
- —Built the Sports Product Innovation Lab from the ground up — team, process, and roadmap0 → 1
- —Shipped computer vision-based optical player tracking for live cricket — a pilot study was conducted in collaboration with Star Sports and went live on airdeployed in live broadcast
- —Built an automated cricket highlight generator — AI identifies key moments and packages them into reels without human editingdeployed in live broadcast
- —Collaborated with IIIT-Hyderabad's Product Labs on AI research for broadcasting analytics
